
Due to construction near the entrance to the Hitchcock Woods, The Aiken Hounds Opening Meet and Blessing of the Hounds will be PRIVATE this year. There will be no spectators for safetly reasons.
The biggest weekend of the fall season here in Aiken is upon us. There will be competitions and outings in at least six different disciplines, all right here in Aiken County. It’s the end of the polo season and the beginning of formal foxhunting. We also have combined driving, eventing, a hunter/jumper show, a hunter pace and barrel racing.
Opening Meet and Blessing of the Hounds for Whiskey Road Foxhounds
Whiskey Road Foxhounds, established in 1976, hunts on Thursdays and Sundays from mid-October through late March. We welcome visitors.
Our hounds are mainly crossbreds with a few English. Our country is open and rolling, and our footing is sandy soil. There are some coops, logs and telephone pole jumps, but not all fixtures have jumps.
